About Carlos Bouza

Carlos Bouza Carlos Bouza was born in the German city of Karlsruhe in 1962 where he spent his childhood. When he was barely ten years old, he moved to Madrid, the city where he currently resides. Part of his childhood is spent traveling between Spain and Germany, which in all likelihood influences him to be the tireless traveler that he is. He has lived in the cities of Valencia and Seville, stays that have greatly contributed to his artistic development. During his Sevillian period, he records all of Andalusia with camera in hand, beginning his teaching work by organizing conferences and photographic trips to Morocco and Portugal. Training His photographic training began as an assistant to the photographer Tomé Ros. He finished his apprenticeship in Professional Photography at the F8 School of Photography. Carlos Bouza is also a Bachelor of Science. in Business Information Technologies from the University of Wales and has participated in various specialization courses in digital marketing, computing and photography. Experience Throughout his career, Carlos Bouza has collaborated with the company Thyssen Krupp; in press agencies such as Efe and Cordon Press; with the University School of Industrial Technical Engineering (EUITI) and the National Distance Education University (UNED) and in social photography reports for Aulocolor I. He was part of the Cibapress photographic laboratory team as Director of Photography. Awards He has received several awards and recognitions. Among which are three Honorable Mentions at the International Monochrome Awards in 2017, 2019 and 2021, he is a Bronze Award at the International Photography Awards Spain and was included in Nikon's NThePhoto.com in 2015 in the Sports category, a distinction reserved exclusively to the hundred best photographers in Spain. An old school photographer, he is a supporter of chemical photography, beginning in 2006 to experiment with digital photography, gradually abandoning it. Currently, all of his work is done in digital format, also experimenting with various supports for his works and techniques with which he achieves that his works have a markedly pictorial effect. Exhibitions Carlos Bouza actively participates in group and multidisciplinary photography exhibitions and has solo shows in Spain, Portugal and France. In several of his exhibitions he has been sponsored by specialized companies in the photographic sector such as Saal-Digital laboratories, Yolomando.com and Pixum. Publications In recent years he has published several photography books and has contributed to various travel blogs and magazines.
